Argentina are in shambles after a scoreless draw against Colombia left the hosts with just one goal and two points through their first two group matches. The combination of the team being terrible as a collective unit and the intense pressure to produce for the national team has turned Lionel Messi into a shell of his usual self. Without the support system he has on the pitch with Barcelona, Messi's typical smiles and effortless brilliance have been replaced by sullen looks and endless difficulty.
In short, Messi now looks the way Arsene Wenger did through the tail end of last season. Which is not good for many, many reasons.

Late in the match, in excellent position, and he produces what could be the worst free kick you ever see from Lionel Messi.
Say what you want about Maradona, but at least when he was coaching this team everyone didn't look like they should be on 24-hour suicide watch.
