Like some kind of international zombie plague, the kung fu kicks just keep coming. But one victim that did not turn around and kung fu kick someone else to continue the chain was Vasco da Gama's Elivelton in the BH Cup U-19 tournament in Brazil. Thankfully, he would be OK and only had to go to the hospital for observation, but when Sport Recife goalkeeper Gustavo delivered a flying kick to the back of the unsuspecting player's neck, it seemed like his injuries could be much worse.
The attack happened in the middle of the pitch after a Sport Recife player attempted to tell a downed Vasco player to get back on his feet and was shoved away for his efforts. This sparked a scuffle that quickly died down, but then Gustavo decided to charge in and deliver that Eric Cantona style kick to the back of Elivelton's neck. At least Cantona did his to someone who was looking in his direction, though.
The punishment for Gustavo was swift -- he was cut from the team even before leaving the stadium and the military police are investigating the attack.
