Currently languishing a single point outside the League 2 relegation zone, former Premier League side Bradford City are having a tough season. Bantams fans faced a little more humiliation last weekend, when their 2012 official calendar went on sale at the Valley Parade club shop. The front cover of West Yorkshire's must-have Christmas gift features an array of Bradford stars ? plus Dele Adebola. The striker enjoyed a brief loan spell with the Paraders in 2004, but he now plays for Hull. Which is why he's wearing a Hull kit on the calendar.
The Bradford Telegraph and Argus explains that the epic fail was down to a designer who was too lazy to proof his work or consider that two teams might play in similar looking colors:
City provided images for the cover but were not part of the proofing. The pictures included a pre-season shot of Guy Branston challenging one-time Bantams loanee Adebola in a friendly at the KC Stadium.
But when the picture was used in the front-cover montage, Branston had been cropped off.
The erroneous calendars have now been recalled, and City's Director of Operations put a positive spin on the situation, insisting that those who bought them are now in possession of a "collector's item".
Frankly, why anyone would want a wall calendar that features anything other than dogs doing yoga is beyond me.
